The Power of Twitter

A lot has already been written about Twitter and more will still be written about it. But this is a new blog and so this is a new topic to discuss. On my travel site, I wrote about how powerful a travel tool twitter can be. Twitter is the next internet revolution. What makes it superior to blogging is its ability to allow people to have real time conversations and share things at a much quicker pace than with blogs. Blogs are great for long articles but twitter is the new way to share news, information, and tips.
Iran had a revolution over Twitter. Jeff Goldbloom died on Twitter. A guy told the world United broke his guitar on it. Ashton Kutcher had a contest with CNN on it. Dell made 2 million in sales from it.
Twitter is everything. Besides being a good communication tool, Twitter is also a promotion tool. No matter what everyone tells you, Twitter is about self promotion. This doesn’t even mean tweeting about some product or service. Telling people what you are doing or speaking about your blog post, at its basic form, is a bit of self-promotion. However, if you want to be successful on Twitter, you need to mix up your promotion with actual conversation. Nobody wants to follow someone who shamelessly self promotes. I tweet a lot about my content. With millions of people on twitter, it is a great way to get exposure, especially for my e-book! But I mostly tweet about travel, re-tweet other people’s content, and talk to people. That’s how you maintain a following. And who wants to use a service based on conversation when you don’t have a conversation with people? Not me.
Twitter is about forming connections and the businesses that form connects with their users will make sales without having to sell. In order to be that business, your only task on twitter should to be about connecting with other people. Build relationships, ask friends to tweet important things, tweet your products, but never push your products. Tweets about making money and cheap products will only get your unfollowed. You can announce your deal but if all your tweets revolve around your products, you’ll soon find yourself with no followers.
For people looking to escape the cubicle, Twitter becomes a valuable source of readers, business partners, advertisers, and customers. As you create your digital world, you’ll need a way to reach the masses and Twitter is a great way to do so. Yet it’s very- VERY- important that you don’t use Twitter to over promote. People don’t use Twitter to buy products though people will buy things they hear about on twitter. Twitter is used a communication tool. People want to talk to other people and find out new things relevant to their interests.
Twitter is a powerful tool for bloggers. It allows you to spead the word about your content, meet other people, find out relevant information and news, and talk with people all over the world. For digital nomads it allows you to get your name out there and promote yourself and make connections that can help you escape from the cubicle as your website grows.

We love the value that twitter has added to our digitally nomadic lifestyle. We’ve meet so many awesome folks (tips hat to you!) in the process too.
I would say.. Twitter is not the “next” internet revolution however.. it is here now
Example, we were driving through the Appalachians last week, arguably one of the slower to catch up with the rest of the USA places.. and heard a local company advertising on the radio. At the end of their radio ad, they said..’And follow us on Twitter at ‘.
When twitter has penetrated a mountain town where we could barely boost up a usable cell phone signal…..

twitter can be used in so many different ways and will probably revolutionise the way we all use social media networks. I agree that it is the best platform for developing new relationships with people in your niche and a great way to grow the popularity of your business or blog
